Voting in The Black Community

Project Matters presents a weekend dedicated to the importance of voting in the Black
community in hopes of motivating as many Black voters as possible to participate in the
upcoming 2022 election.

The weekend kicks off on Friday, October 21st at 8pm with the Black Art Matters Voting and
Sexual Health event at 207 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15210. The art show will showcase
Black talent in the city with a focus on voting and sexual health within the community. A $1000 prize will be awarded to the best artist who creates art based upon voting and sexual health.

The event is free to the public and will demonstrate how voting works by selecting the winner through audience ballots.

On Saturday, October 22nd, Project Matters presents the 2nd Annual Black Votes Matters Ball from 9pm – 2am at Wilson’s Night Out. The Black LGBTQIA community will be showcased while competing for thousands of dollars in cash prizes. Guests will also have the opportunity to register to vote.
