EmployHER Pittsburgh is a new initiative designed to empower women to become financially independent. The next EmployHER Pittsburgh program kick-off and opportunity fair will occur Monday, October 30, from noon to 6 p.m. at the University of Pittsburgh’s Community Engagement Center in Homewood.
EmployHER Pittsburgh is a collaborative initiative between Dress for Success Pittsburgh, New Century Careers, and When She Thrives, aimed at providing access to better employment, personal development, and educational opportunities for women in Allegheny County.
They are bringing together nonprofits and prospective employers to make it easier for women in our community to access the resources they need to succeed. With the support of a Success Partner, every woman who attends will receive individualized support to help her set and achieve her goals.
EmployHER Pittsburgh is designed to remove barriers like access to childcare and transportation through pop-up engagement events, bringing multiple nonprofit resources and prospective employers to the communities of women across Allegheny County. A success partner will support each woman attending the opportunity fair to help them set and achieve their self-defined goals over six months.
At the fair, you will be able to:
- Update your resume
- Meet hiring employers
- Get a professional headshot
- Participate in self-care experiences
- Enroll in education and training programs
- Get support with food, housing, and childcare
- Childcare is available onsite if you need it
After the fair, you’ll have six months of support for success with:
