1Hood Media is teaming up with Grammy-Winning Rapper David Banner to host People, Politics and Power this Saturday. The event, part of a year-long series of 1Hood programming, will be held in partnership with the Kingsley Association, AR3, REACH and Rebuilding in Communities Outreach. Banner will share how to build liberated communities, advocate for positive change and create generational wealth. Recently, the Mississippi native used his platform to elevate Jackson’s water crisis. Other activities include a three-on-three basketball tournament, food trucks and giveaways–all free of charge. Additionally, attorneys from the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office will hold an expungement and pardon clinic as part of the PA Marijuana Pardon Project. Pennsylvania is coordinating a one-time, large-scale pardon effort for people with certain minor, non-violent marijuana convictions.
